Magomed Gasanovich Ismailov is a Russian mixed martial artist, a representative of the middle and light heavyweight categories. He has been performing professionally since 2011, and is known for his participation in tournaments of the fighting organizations ACA, Fight Nights, M-1 Global, Kunlun Fight, etc. He is a titled professional athlete, world champion in combat sambo, and master of sports of international class. Master of sports in army hand-to-hand combat and freestyle wrestling. Magomed Ismailov was born in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk region, RSFSR, USSR. His father is Avar, and his mother is Kumyk. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to Makhachkala, where he seriously engaged in freestyle wrestling from the age of twelve, then moved to Moscow to train in the Trudovye Rezervy sports society. He began his sports career as a freestyle wrestler, became a bronze medalist of the Dagestan championship, champion and multiple medalist of the Moscow championship, champion and medalist of international master tournaments, master of sports of Russia in freestyle wrestling. During his service in the Railway Troops of the Russian Federation, he mastered the technique of army hand-to-hand combat and also regularly competed: prize-winner of the international memorial tournament of Army General V.F. Margelov, master of sports of Russia in ARB. After serving in the army, he was engaged in combat sambo under the guidance of coach Vladimir Otarovich Osia in the Moscow martial arts club Golden Team at the Russian University of Cooperation. In 2010, he won a silver medal in the Russian championship in combat sambo, the following year he already took gold, winning the tournament in memory of Rinat Sadykov. In 2012, he won the World Combat Sambo Championship (according to the World Combat Sambo Federation) - for this outstanding achievement he was awarded the honorary title of "Master of Sports of Russia, International Class".
