Apostolos Gletsos (Volos, 27 June 1967) is a Greek actor and politician. He is the leader of the 1st opposition faction of the Central Greece Region. In early December 2014, he founded the centrist political movement "Telea", with which he participated in the parliamentary elections of January 2015, receiving 1.77%. He has acted in numerous television series. In the past, he served as mayor of Stylida (2011–19). He has acted in the video clip "Didymoticho Blues" in 1989. He made his television debut in 1990 in an episode of the comedy series by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou "The Three Graces". In the 1991-1992 season he participated in the drama series "Fakelos Amazon" while the series "Anatolikos Anemos" followed the following season. He also acted in the series "O hiros, i hira ki ta kiireto", "Tha pilseris me ton adigoro mou", and "Ston asterismo tis grivatas". From 1992 to 1994, he played his first leading role on television in the police series "Ethics Department" while also making two guest appearances in the comedy series "Children of Greece". In the 1994-1995 season, he starred with Mimi Denisi in the romantic comedy "Someone to Watch Over Her", while during the same period, the two of them were - in addition to television - a couple in life. In the following television season, he presented the game show "Golden Threepenny". In the 1995 season, he played in an episode of the series "City Streets" and in the series Jack Pot on ANT1. From 1996 to 1997, he starred in the comedy series by Giorgos Konstantinos "Sofia Orthi" playing alongside Sofia Aliberti. In 1997, he starred in the drama series Whispers of the Heart alongside Anna-Maria Papacharalambous. In this series, he played the role of the young architect Antonis Mavrakis who falls in love with the young gypsy Erato. The series is still one of the most successful drama series on Greek television, while one of its episodes recorded a record viewership rate of 76.7% in February 1998. Due to the enormous success of the series, the leading duo received many offers in the following years. In the 1998-1999 season, he starred alongside Smaragda Karydi in the romantic series "The Flapping of the Seagull", while the following season he collaborated again with Manousos Manousakis in the drama series "The Border of Love". From 2000 to 2001, he starred alongside Vana Barba and Dina Konsta in the series "Like Winter Sunshine". In the 2001-2002 season, he starred for the first time in several years in the comedy series "Agios Emis". This was followed by the leading role in the third season of the series "Aerines Siopes" in the 2002-2003 season, while in the 2003-2004 season he made some brief appearances in the series "The Nanny", "Seven Deadly Mother-in-Laws" and "All on the Roof".
