Biography

Calvin Wimmer is an American film editor and assistant editor known for his extensive work in high-profile Hollywood productions. He began his career in the late 1990s, contributing as an assistant editor to notable films such as "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" (1999) and Oliver Stone's "Any Given Sunday" (1999). Over the early 2000s, he worked on projects including "The Chronicles of Riddick," "Speed Racer," and "Grand Champion," steadily building his reputation in the editorial department. During the 2010s, Wimmer became closely associated with Michael Bay's action-packed franchise films. He served as associate editor on "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (2009), "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (2011), and "Transformers: Age of Extinction" (2014), also lending his voice to a minor character ("Wheelbot") in "Revenge of the Fallen." He provided additional editorial work on "Pain & Gain" (2013). He took on an assistant or associate editor role in other Bay projects, such as "The A‑Team" (2010) and "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" (2016). In recent years, Wimmer stepped fully into the editor role for Michael Bay productions, shaping the final cut of "6 Underground" (2019) and "Ambulance" (2022). He returned to the "Transformers" universe as an additional editor on "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" (2023).
